The story behind Workearly
It started with a simple belief: where you live shouldn’t define how far you can go.
For Workearly Co-Founder & CEO Dimitris Kyriakatis, the idea was personal. He believed that talent is everywhere, but access to the right skills, guidance, and career opportunities isn’t.
So in 2020, Workearly was created with a simple purpose: to help people build careers without borders.
But learning had to feel different, too. Less passive. Less about watching videos and collecting certificates. More like the real world.
That’s why Workearly brings learning to life through role-playing, gamified experiences, real-world scenarios, and personalized learning — giving people the chance to practice, make decisions, solve problems, and build skills by actually using them.
Today, Workearly is a growing community of people learning new skills, changing careers, earning certifications, and preparing for opportunities that can take them anywhere. 2020–2022
Where it all began
Workearly was founded in 2020 by Dimitris Kyriakatis and Efthymis Vafeadis, two Computer Engineers who shared a belief: technology could make learning more practical, personal, and connected to the real world of work.
They started building the kind of learning experience they wished existed — one where people could develop real skills, learn through practice, and prepare for opportunities beyond the limits of their location.
The first years were about building, testing, listening to learners, and constantly improving. What started as an idea between two engineers soon became a growing learning community — and the foundation for what Workearly is today.
2022–2024
From an idea to 50,000 learners
What started with two engineers and one idea was becoming something much bigger.
By 2024, Workearly had welcomed its first 50,000 learners, expanded its learning experiences across tech, business, and remote careers, and introduced new ways to learn through 1-on-1 mentoring, role-playing, and gamification.
This period also marked an important milestone for the company: Workearly raised a €1.5M seed round from Metavallon VC, giving the team the momentum to invest further in its technology, learning experience, and international growth.
50,000 learners later, the mission was only getting started.
2024–today
From local roots to European growth
Workearly entered its next chapter, expanding its presence across Greece, the United Kingdom, Cyprus, and Poland and growing into a community of more than 150,000 learners and professionals.
Along the way, more than 40,000 learners earned certifications, while Workearly continued investing in AI-powered learning, role-playing experiences, gamification, remote career programs, and partnerships that connect learning with the real world of work.
At the same time, a new community was taking shape — bringing together people who believe that a career shouldn’t be tied to one place and growing into one of Europe’s largest communities around remote work and career mobility.
